A Box of Birds Documentaries #2

"A Box of Birds" is a series of short web documentaries about the iconic Hens’ Teeth Women’s Comedy Company In 1996 a core group of Hens' Teeth toured the South island of New Zealand. These are the stories of the women comedians on that tour.

Four episodes in this series have already been made with the help of Creative New Zealand - Dame Kate Harcourt, Lee Hatherly, Helen Moulder and Rose Beauchamp, Prue Langbein.

With this Boosted campaign, we are fundraising to create the next four episodes featuring Lorae Parry, Bub Bridger, Kate Jason Smith, Sue Dunlop and Cathie Sheat.

The complete series of 8 documentaries will then be offered for broadcast as a web series. 

Hens' Teeth entertained New Zealand audiences from 1988 for over 13 years, and forged a path for women comedians into the future. The legacies of the women involved in this series will be an invaluable tool for New Zealand arts practitioners and a chance to relive the memorable sketches created and loved for decades by New Zealand audiences.
