About The Project

Night Night is a short horror film (6-10 min) about an older sister being tormented by a child stealing demon, who preys on caregivers going through a stage of grief. Throughout the film, you will be clued in on what has happened to Julia (the main character) for her to be going through the first stage of grief, denial, and hence why the demon has targeted her. Taking inspiration from other media such as The Haunting of Hill House, there are things in the background for the audience to pick up on. This also gives the film an extra layer of re-watchability. Like most demons in media, they are a physical representation of some sort of fear that the protagonist has. I won't explain what that is here as that is something for the audience to think about as they watch.

What Night Night Needs

This film is being made by a small team of second year Massey University students who have all put in good work to make this film the best it can be. We've even made many of our own props and costuming from scratch to make this film truly unique to us. We are just asking for a small sum of money to help pay for fuel costs, transport, food and we would also like to be able to pay our actors a bit of money for their time.

Our goal of $500 will be able to cover this ($550 to cover the Boosted Fees). If we get anything over that, then we can reimburse those that spent their own hard earned money to help make the props and can up our pay for the actors.

This film will be completed Late October - Early November (aim to release on October 31st). We have already started production with one more day of shooting to come before we head into post production. Shooting in Canon 4K raw on a Canon C200 camera.

However, we may delay it slightly if we feel like we can polish the film more and put out an even better product!
