JOIN US IN TAKING OUR FEATURE FILM TO THE NEXT LEVEL
With your help, we can take our film from something passable, to something great, that sits comfortably alongside top-notch international thriller and horror films.
Loop Track is a psychological thriller following a highly anxious Ian Thompson (Tom Sainsbury). Following a nervous breakdown, Ian wants to get as far away from humanity as possible. He embarks on a four-day tramp through the New Zealand bush.
To Ian's dismay, some other trampers (Chris Parker, Kate Simmonds, Tawanda Manyimo) attach themselves to him. But as their chatter fills his solitude, Ian can’t stop the feeling they are being followed. Is it all just in his head? Or is there someone out there. Or something…
Miles from civilisation, with paranoia growing and with Ian’s grasp on reality unraveling, the four-day tramp transforms into a bloody fight for survival.
We plan for Loop Track to be an exciting, gripping, haunting film that’ll shock audiences both in New Zealand and abroad. With the naturalism of Drive, the thrill-ride of Ridley Scott’s Alien, and the occasional off-beat comedy of Get Out we want to make a masterpiece.
Tom is best known to audiences for his comedy, but his true love lies in the thriller genre and human drama. He has worked with Chillbox Creative for the last five years and competed in the 48hour Film Competition, winning twice, with gritty, thought-provoking suspense films. Loop Track is the next natural progression of our working relationship.
As cinema-lovers and storytellers we are super pumped to create an exciting feature film!
THE PROJECT SO FAR
The script is written. The actors have been cast. The film is ready to be shot. We just need a little bit more cash. With the prize money from the 48hr Film comp wins, and our own personal savings, we're confident that we can just scrape by and make this film in May this year. A little more funding will help to take it to the next level.
The $25,000 we are trying to raise will help with:
- A stunt co-ordinator - so we can execute action scenes safely and beautifully.
- Location fees and permits - enabling us to film at great locations that aren't currently financially viable.
- Equipment and professional crew for the sound department.
Anything you can contribute - big or small - would be an incredible help to us.
Much love,
Tom, Chillbox, and the rest of the team

Project Updates
LOOP TRACK in NZ Cinemas - NEXT WEEK!!
Hey Loop Track Boosted Donors,
Loop Track is coming to cinemas around NZ next week - on November 2nd! Thanks heaps for your support along the way - we couldn’t have done it without you!
Please follow us on social media for updates from Tom and the team, and like, share, and comment where you can to spread the word about the film.

Here’s the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1-jeye_fxk&t=43s
The film’s been really well-received so far - around NZ at Whānau Mārama NZ International Film Festival, and also overseas at Screamfest Los Angeles, SXSW Sydney, and Celluloid Screams and Mayhem in the UK. Check out some audience reviews on Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/film/loop-track/
We’d be hugely appreciative if you could make it along to cinemas for the opening weekend of 3rd, 4th, and 5th November. The opening weekend is crucial for New Zealand films - unfortunately, if a film doesn’t perform in its first weekend, then cinema chains may pull it from the schedule almost immediately.
If you can make it along to a screening, look out for your name in the credits!
Take care,
The Loop Track Team
