Overview
Keep Calm & Yolo is an album of collaborative songs, spreading positivity. It boasts a carefully curated line up of NZ musicians and producers spanning over 8 different sub-cultures and a wide variety of genres.
It's easy to think that we are in times of doubt, uncertainty and fear. With conflicting news stories all around us, it's sometimes hard to stay positive. There are so many things thay we cannot control, which is why I believe that we need to focus on what we, as individuals, can control: our mindset.
About Keep Calm & Yolo
‘You only live once’ and 'keeping calm' is a fantastic way to a better life. From a young age, we are influenced by the music we listen to. Songs can create connection and love, but also death and destruction. This is why I want to help build a music industry focused on the good stuff. In the past, I’ve been guilty of trying to do it all myself and I know a lot of artists face the same struggle.
With this project, I want to encourage collaboration in the NZ music scene.
Keep Calm and Yolo will be produced at our very own Sundream Studios in Auckland. I’ll produce, mix and sing on the album with my brother Nick Tarrant as co-producer.
The chosen artists will write, sing and be a part of one song each on the album.
We need your help to make it happen.
Funding raised through this camapgin will help us cover the recording costs, digital promotion, animated lyric music videos, a fee for the artists, media outreach and radio promotion. Overall, your donation will help us promote a positive messages around the globe, through collaboration in music.
There's some great music on the radio these days, but there are also a lot of confusing, negative messages out there. The more good vibes we can spread, the better. I have personally experienced how music has influence people around the world and with this prject, I'm ready to do something about it.
If you believe that we create art to focus on loving ourselves, understanding others and striving for truth, then please help by donating to this project!
Thank you so much for your support.
Who is involved in Keep Calm & Yolo?
PROJECT LEADER - Ant Tarrant (me)
Spending most of my twenties living and playing in other countries (Canada, USA, Panama, Colombia & Argentina while extensively travelling the world), I’ve been back in New Zealand for two years. Knowing only a few people in the industry, I’ve played a few festivals and am now creating Keep Calm & Yolo.
In 2021, I landed three music placements on ABC Network, and I've been producing loads for other creatives. I also had a handful of successful events at my beloved Sundream Studios in Auckland, which you can check out here, including samples of my work.

What's planned for the future?
I want to take young NZ artists overseas for worldly musical experiences, create a TV show similar to Flight Of The Concords, but with real artists in the studio, write and produce with the biggest in the industry. With everything I do, I strive to better the world with the art I’m producing.
Once Keep Calm & Yolo is produced, I’m going to the USA and Europe to do more collaborations, to play a few shows and to encourage others to live life to the fullest.
Your donation will mean the world to me. With your help, I want to make this album of the year and be able to give everybody involved a fair cut.
