Dad's Turn to Learn - A child's journey through their Father's stroke
Sue Waight | Literature
Overview
WHAT IS DAD'S TURN TO LEARN?
For many years I worked with patients who have had a stroke and are still relatively young and raising young children. I and my colleagues have not been able to find any books for children whose parents have had a stroke.
I wrote this book ‘Dad’s turn to learn’ to be given to children to help them to understand what has happened to their parent.
I am starting this ‘Boosted’ campaign to try to raise enough money to print the book. The illustrator of the book has done beautiful drawings that have made the book truly special, and part of the money raised will be used to pay her. I will not be taking any payment for my part in this project.
WHERE DO YOUR DONATIONS GO?
The funds I am seeking are for the following:
Illustrator payment $1000
Printing costs - initial run (150) $500
Further print run (50) $859
Admin. advertising & delivery $500
Total $2859.00
Ultimately, I would like to be able to interest a publisher in this book, which I feel is very much needed for ongoing production to be funded.

Project Updates
5 Days to go
Thank you everyone who has contributed. I have put a stretch goal on to try to get a bit more funding together to help with the cost of the 'Mum book'. The stretch goal was $1,000 and we have $250 so far, so $750 to go. Just that little bit extra to help towards the cost of printing some Mum books. Again, a huge thank you to all the contributors.
