Project Updates
5 Days to go
Thank you everyone who has contributed. I have put a stretch goal on to try to get a bit more funding together to help with the cost of the 'Mum book'. The stretch goal was $1,000 and we have $250 so far, so $750 to go. Just that little bit extra to help towards the cost of printing some Mum books. Again, a huge thank you to all the contributors.
I am so thankful to all the donors
This campaign has succeeded more than I would have ever thought possible. So many, very generous donations and I am humbled by the support I have received. Let's see what the stretch goal can do to provide funding for a second book, so that we have both Mum and Dad books available.
I am blown away by everyone's generosity
An enormous thank you to everyone who has contributed. I am blown away by the generosity of everyone who donated. Large or small you have all made my dream come true of getting this project to become a reality.
I have added a 'stretch goal' so that perhaps any additional funds that come in over the next few days to go towards funding the 'Mum's turn to learn' without having to mount a whole new campaign. This process has been nail biting and exciting and not without stress, so a second campaign might prove too taxing. So, if we can use some of the funds for a Mum book that would be great.
Again, huge thank you's and appreciation for everyone's generosity! There are still wonderful, generous people out there!
7 days to go - thank you for your kind donations
Hi, everyone. I'm so touched by the responses to my call for donations to try and get the book off the ground. With 7 days to go, things are looking hopeful. I was especially touched by a donation which had this comment with it "My dad had a stroke when I was a young child. This is a valuable resource 💜 "
These are the people I want to reach when they need the support and are trying to find their place to help their Dad. Hopefully, we will get to the end of the campaign and will have made target.
Three more generous souls
A huge thank you to those of you who have responded to my call so far. I am so very grateful, I believe this book will be a great help to children whose Dad has had a stroke. If possible, I would like to get the Mum book done soon too, so we have two books that a child in need can have whether it is their Dad or Mum affected.
Only 9 days to go!
A huge thank you to all who have donated so far. We are still a way off making target, so if you know of anyone who might be interested in contributing to this initiative to produce a resource for children whose parent has had a stroke, please encourage them to donate. This is an 'all or nothing' so if anyone has been thinking about donating, now's the time to
take action. Just to emphasise that I am not doing this for any financial gain for myself, but rather to pay the illustrator and to get some more printed. I have added the interview I did with Plains FM so you can hear how important this is from my experience.
Cut and paste the link below and it should lead you to the interview I did with Plains FM.

Another Donation today
It's lovely to see another donation towards getting this book out there. All donations are so much appreciated. Now that I am no longer working as a Social Worker, it is important to me to still do some good with my life. Hopefully, we will get this across the line and be able to help some children in need of information and support and also to give them the message that they can be an important part of their parents' journey.
Something Awesome
What's something awesome you've done today? Spread the word and let's get our book across the line so it can help children going through a parent's stroke.
Another donation - A huge thank you
It was lovely to get another donation today. I especially like it when they come with a nice comment, especially when they show that they know the need out there. So, a big thank you to today's donor. Each donation is a step towards our goal. Now we've had another donation towards our goal. I am so grateful.
The reasons behind this campaign
Just a short video talking about why I feel this is an important tool for children whose parent has had a stroke. It gives children a way to feel part of their father's recovery, so they don't feel sidelined or confused about what has happened to their Dad and how they can help.
Let's keep this going - Yay. Two more donors!
It's heartening when people show their support by donating. Thank you to the two donors - who are anonymous for your kind donations. I hope all of you realise how much your contribution is appreciated.
Thank you for all your donations
It is great to see people getting behind this campaign. I feel if successful, the books will be a great tool for children struggling with their Dad's sudden changes in having a stroke. So far, we have raised $1365 out of a total needed of $3359. It's all or nothing, so we really need to make the target. If you can, I would appreciate you tapping into your networks and making this dream of mine a reality.
If you have donated to this campaign, I hope it is because you believe - as I do - that this project and this book will make a difference to children facing the huge adjustment of a parent having a stroke. If we can get a crowd behind this, I don't expect big donations, in fact I don't 'expect' anything. However, I hope that those of you have donated yourselves can reach out to your own networks to support this campaign and to get the word out about the campaign, so we can start having them ready for children who need this right now. When building it starts with a single small brick, but put them all together and you have made something of substance and something important. Your donation could be the brick that starts building to a book that gets out there to help children.
