‘Common Ground’ follows Micah, a forager living in harmony with nature, as he navigates the complexities of his sister Ruby's life—a successful corporate woman entrenched in materialism. As Ruby confronts the painful truths behind her seemingly perfect facade, Micah guides her on a transformative journey that challenges her beliefs about worth, happiness, and the true meaning of fulfillment. 

WHAT SORT OF FILM IS THIS?

At its core, ‘Common Ground’ delves into the struggle between meaning and meaninglessness in our modern, materialistic society. The film invites audiences to question the value of possessions versus personal integrity and the impact of disconnection from nature. By challenging the idolisation of material wealth, we explore themes of self-worth, traditional values, and the courage it takes to choose authenticity over superficial pursuits. 

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT?

We are seeking $7,000 to cover essential production costs, including cast salaries, catering, accommodation, travel, props, location fees, and post-production. Every dollar raised will help ensure that we can deliver a high-quality film that resonates with audiences and addresses these important issues.

Filmed in the stunning landscapes of Whatawhata, New Zealand, near Raglan, our choice of location enhances the cinematic quality of the project. The breathtaking scenery not only provides an authentic backdrop but also elevates our film’s production value, giving it a competitive edge for international film festivals.
