Bringing Bali Artists to Wellington

Originally we had applied for funding from the Ministry for Culture in Jakarta to bring 18 professional musicians and dancers from Mekar Bhuana but were unfortunately turned down at the last minute, leaving us little time to look at fundraising options for such a large troupe. So we aimed to bring just two artists but all our sponsorship proposals were declined, perhaps because it was coming to the end of the year. We had already paid for air tickets and visas, and we were too busy rehearsing and preparing our presentations and workshops to set up a crowdfunding campaign. So here we our now asking for communal assistance from all our supporters around the world!
