Bringing Bali Artists to Wellington

We are thrilled to share the overwhelming success of our recent project, which was bringing Pur and Ayu, two talented artists from Bali, to travel to Wellington where they performed and taught workshops at the 48th ICTMD Conference which was held in New Zealand for the first time ever. This was part of a collaboration betweeen Mekar Bhuana Aotearoa, 11 international conference academics and five New Zealand musicians we had gathered together to perform on our Gamelan Semara ensemble, accompanying six dancers. Your support will retrospectively cover their travel expenses, the largest chunk of outgoings for Mekar Bhuana Centre that made this cultural exchange a reality.
