World Art Games 2017

The Project
I have the exciting opportunity and great privilege to represent New Zealand at the World Art Games in Croatia, and I need your help to get there!
The World Art Games (WAG) seeks to connect artists of all artistic disciplines, and provides an opportunity for professional development and greater recognition. The next WAG is being held in Croatia in August 2017, and as WAG children's arts coordinator for the North Island, I will be involved in creating and synchronizing cultural activities during the nine day event.
This is an incredible opportunity to display my own art, and to showcase and exhibit the art of New Zealand children as part of an New Zealand children's exhibition. I will be representing my indigenous Maori culture, and engaging with other cultures and art forms. I will be able to affirm my Maori values through my artwork, and the artwork of the children on an New Zealand scale.
I am hopeful that participating in the WAG will enhance my profile as an emerging artist, enable me to make new connections with artists from around the world, and create a pathway to inspire others.
While this is all terribly exciting, it's also expensive! In addition to the the airfare and accomodation costs, I need to create some new work for exhibition. Your generous donations will help me to cover the cost of the $6,000 trip, and make my dream come true!
A bit more about me...
I am a travelling art teacher at schools in the Bay of Plenty area, and I am involved in a lot of voluntary art activities for children. I exhibit regularly and I have been involved in group art exhibition shows locally, New Zealand and New Zealandly.
I have exhibited and sold my artwork at the Carousel du Louvre in Paris, and I won the local merit award for the Molly Morpeth Canaday Arts Awards 2016. I have gained my Art Honors Diploma in art through The Learning Connection this year and I'm currently doing my Advanced Diploma in Art.
Every donation will be hugely appreciated - thanks for your help and support!
