When We Dead Awaken
Walking Shadows | Theatre
The Project
Part of the NZ Fringe Festival 2016, "When We Dead Awaken" will be the New Zealand premiere of Henrik Ibsen's infamous last play.
As this is a dramatic symbolist play about artists and art consuming life, Catriona Tipene and Iris Henderson of 'Walking Shadows' are working towards making this production an immersive artistic experience. We plan to integrate engaging lighting design, an original music score by Evangelina Telfar, visual art by Taylor-Jane Smith, and a dynamic staging experience by Kathleen Baker along with stylised dramatic performance. But to do this, we need your help. While our cast and crew are working for love, we require $2000 for lighting hire, set construction and costuming to realise our vision.
Access is very important to us: shows will be in the early evening; tickets will be low priced; the venue, Alpha Gallery, is centrally located and fully wheelchair accessible; and for one performance we will offer New Zealand Sign Language interpreters to ensure accessibility to the Wellington Deaf community.
Be part of this exciting creative challenge and help us secure the resources we need to bring "When We Dead Awaken" to life!
