"What are you gonna do? What are you gonna do about the lesbian leopards? How are you gonna help them achieve their IVF treatment?"
OUR FILM
Weaker Leg is a comedy short film about two struggling ‘Save the Gay Animals’ activists, Cece-Marie and Isla. When they get invited to dinner by a renowned philanthropist, one of them must avoid being lured into a pyramid scheme. She uncovers a horrifying discovery which leaves either the gay animals or her friendship at risk. This forces her to make a difficult moral choice to prioritise her beliefs over her indoctrinated friend.

WHY?
We are super passionate about the comedy genre and silly stories. Weaker Leg was also written with the aim to bring more fun queer stories set in Aotearoa to life. It’s important this story is told as we want to see more queer films that aren’t tragic or based around coming out. The process of creating Weaker Leg is allowing members of the community to make art that they are represented in, in a unique way.
YOUR CONTRIBUTION COUNTS!
This campaign is all or nothing which means every dollar really counts! Any donation of any size helps greatly. Plus, supporting us counts as a charitable donation (through the Arts Foundation, not through ‘Save the Gay Animals’ unfortunately...) so you can claim a third of your donation back!
Your contributions will go towards cool things like:
- Paying our amazing actors for their mahi
- Feeding our cast and crew - there will be no starving artists here!!
- Supplying our art department so our sets look sick as
- Covering travel costs
- And more!
Even if you can’t donate, spreading the word helps out a lot too! We appreciate each and every one of our supporters and we’re so excited to get to filming.
So... what are YOU gonna DO?? 🫵🤨 Join us today!
