#WELOVECASSETTE #SAVEOURVENUES #SAVEOURVENUESNZ
Recent messages of love and support for Cassette and the whanau who keep it trundling along have been a wonderful thing to witness. Twelve beautiful years of music, mischief and mayhem with pretty much every New Zealand band you can think of having a hoon at our stage, not to mention all the producers, rappers, DJ’s, performers, comedians, quiz masters, tattoo artists, photographers, designers, dancers, international acts and of course you ravers having all cut your teeth with us since the very start in 2008! If only our walls could talk, oh the stories they would tell!
Over the years we have adapted to our surroundings in the best way we know how, with the goal of remaining an inclusive space for everyone, supporting music and always trying our best to provide a platform for the creation of musically driven memories, playing our part in a ever growing and truly exciting cultural movement in Auckland
The current crisis has seen a major shift in this environment, with many small venues around Aotearoa facing a very uncertain future; we stand alongside all of them, going into unchartered territory together.
The importance of creative institutions like Cassette Nine and many others within Auckland is more significant to our city and soul than words could ever describe. As platforms are provided, New Zealand artists can flourish, internationals come and share with us and links are built across the globe, this combined continues to push New Zealand forward, offering opportunities for our talents to test and triumph, keep Auckland the cultural and diverse city we know and love.
And with this, we are reaching out to you for your support in any way you can, surviving to dance another day, or better still, for years to come is the goal, and to establish ourselves again in a very different world. The aim is to support our staff and the business as much as possible so we can continue to provide a space for all, allowing us to come back to you with more energy, more creativity and more love than ever before.
Please help if you can in the following ways...
1. Donate! Every little bit helps us to work through this and keep the dream alive.
2. Share the link to this fundraising page with the hashtags #welovecassette and #saveourvenues on any of your socials. If you have photos or videos and memories to share we would love to see or hear them.
