Overview

Kia ora and Bula Vinaka to all my family, friends, colleagues, artists and amazing supporters of Daren Kamali "DKpoet", all over the globe.

I am a practicing artist, published-performance poet, muso and creative entrepreneur for over 25 years yet I haven't recorded or released any music single or album since 2005.

I recently worked with Pati Umaga and a team of musos and engineers at the Massey University in Wellington in 2022 to record an early poem that I wrote over 20 years ago (one of my earliest works) in the Fijian (Bauan) language which is now a rap song, titled, "Viti" (Fiji).

This project is incredibly close to my heart and I am calling out to our families and friends across the moana to support and make this dream a reaility. It expresses my deep love for the Islands where I was born and raised - titled, "Viti", recorded by the help of other Pacific/ Māori musos and sound engineers to release as a single accompanied by a music video here in AotearoaNZ and Moana Nui a Kiwa.

This crowdfunding will help us produce a quality music video for a Fijian rap song written as a poem over 20 years ago and recorded in Wellington in 2022.
