The Project
In a few weeks, I'm headed to the Venice Biennale and the world's leading low-budget cinema program - to take part in an extraordinary film competition.
Along with two other super-talented Kiwis, I'll be competing against 11 filmmaking teams from around the globe: workshopping our script 'Killer?' for ten intense days in masterclasses with some of the world's foremost filmmakers, producers, distributors and more. At the end of it all, we pitch our project - and three teams get 150,000 Euro to make a film, which premieres at the 2017 Venice Film Festival!
It's an incredible event - we're the first Kiwis to ever be accepted - a chance to learn from the very best in the world, to make a fantastic film, and get it seen at one of the world's biggest festival. But whether we win or lose, we gain writing and filmmaking experience you simply can't get anywhere else - and our film gets an amazing boost.
I'm trying to raise $2000 to cover the costs of the compeition, as well as working and living in Venice. I'm match every contribution myself, so every dollar is doubled!
Thank you so much for your help - it means everything.
