UNSTITCHED Local Fashion Revolution

UNSTITCHED: LOCAL FASHION REVOLUTION is an interactive hub for everyone in our community to engage with information and creative activities that help transform fashion into a force for good.

What are we doing?
With the help of Urban Dream Brokerage, we will be transforming a vacant shop in central Dunedin into a vibrant workshop and education centre from the 1st - 30th April 2017.

We will be building on our success in 2016, where over 100 people came and participated in mending, upcycling and skill sharing while enjoying great conversations unpicking the myths of the fashion industry.

This year UNSTITCHED will enable more people to engage with knowledge, skills and resources to enjoy the clothes we wear and accessories we use everyday.

As well as our drop-in 'fashion first aid' station, we will be expanding the range of workshops on offer; with talented local artists, designers and crafters sharing their passion and expertise in traditional and innovative textile arts.

Why are we doing this?
The fashion industry touches everybody's lives as a truly global industry with massive social and environmental impact.

As an official event as part of New Zealand organisation Fashion Revolution, we will be joining thousands all over the world, who will be showing how we, as consumers, can use our voices and choices to reduce waste and improve transparency in the fashion industry.

Why be part of the Revolution?
We need your help to make this project accessible to everyone in our community; from finding out about it with a great marketing campaign, to participating in well run, relevant and exciting workshops.

Your donation will help us to reward artists and designers for their expertise, while making sure participation is affordable for everyone of all ages and circumstances.

Your donation will also help us market the project throughout our community; from reaching out to schools, to coverage in local media, to boosting our reach on social media.
