To Remember
Hannah Mills | Film
Overview
Kia Ora! This is the team behind 'To Remember', a short, seven-minute documentary.
This is our final year project for AUT and we want to give it our all. Since we're all passionate about telling people's stories and bringing history to life, we decided to create a World War I documentary to preserve a family's heritage.
What is the project?
Charles Kingsley Mills was a young man when he enlisted himself to fight for New Zealand in World War 1. He left behind a story of courage and resilience but how is he remembered? How do we remember people after they’ve gone? This documentary would explore not just Charles Mills story but how his war story is remembered by family and history.
The documentary follows me, Hannah Mills, as I interview my family to try and find the truth behind the stories I’ve been told as a child.
