Overview

Think Coromandel Gig Guide is a grassroots project to support the local arts and events industry on the Coromandel Peninsula. It all began with us wanting to get out and about, being willing to travel for a good gig but wondering where the heck we were supposed to find out what was going on without having to trawl through a bunch of different whats on listing sites.

The Gig Guide is focused around community and we understand the value the arts play on mental wellbeing. Events, Arts and Music are the glue that connects our communities and helps our collective social wellbeing to thrive. We are passionate about supporting and providing opportunities for our community to engage with the arts, and connecting our townships by focusing on the Peninsula as a whole.  Keeping the guide free, and accessible to all is important to us.

Alongside our monthly guide, we host arts events in our community, and bring in creatives from around our region. Audiences will remember us for THINK fest, THINK 01: Collective Exhibition and our recent Ebony Lamb gig. We also collaborate with other local arts groups and organizations, including Creative Mercury Bay and Yellow Door Art Space.

YOUR FUNDING WILL HELP US TO...

Our aim for 2021 and beyond is to keep on keeping on! This means keeping up with operating costs, maintaining our new online presence, being flexible to take on projects and most importantly, keeping the guide free and accessible to the masses.

Given that we are supported by local small businesses and event organisers who are really struggling during this unstable covid environment, we have chosen not to up our advertising rates. It’s important to us that we find other avenues to continue to grow the gig guide, whilst keeping it free to the community, and being aware of keeping costs down for our advertisers due to the current economic times.

As the gig guide grows, we need to find new ways to keep it sustainable. To create a bigger impact, to support our community and the creatives we collaborate with, and to promote Coromandel events and artists at a larger scale. If you value what we do at THINK Coromandel Gig Guide now is the time to be part of it! Keep an eye out on the 12th of November, when our boosted campaign goes live, share it with your friends and whanau, and donate to our cause.
