The Project
An original screenplay aimed at raising awareness of the effects fishing practices are having on small coastal communities throughout Aotearoa.
'The Turning Tide' is a short film about two young friends, who go off fishing one day in their ancestral fishing grounds only to discover things aren't as they once were. A coming of age story that outlines the importance Maori placed on the customary fishing practices of their ancestors, and the effects over fishing is having on a small coastal community.
We think the k?rero of preserving and protecting our moana is more than important, so our film will give a voice to those who share this whakaaro (idea). Join us on our filmmaking journey and keep the dialogue alive.
As we transition into rehearsal phase of production, we require a little tautoko from you, our friends, whanau and likers - keep the k?rero rolling and share our kaupapa with your networks, we can all be a part of making this film happen. As our schedule rolls out over the next two months, we will keep you in the loop with our preparation for shooting and inform you of any major progress.
