The Sin
The Sin | Film
The Project
Dreams are apt to be confused with reality. They give height to behaviour in the waking state.
Kia Ora everyone, we are in the final year of our Screen Production degree at AUT. This is our last project and we're super keen to make this one memorable. The goal is to acquire industry-like skills and share meaningful content with our communities. We have written a seven-minute short psychothriller that we intend to add to our portfolios and use to enter into a bunch of film festivals around Aotearoa.
ABOUT THE FILM:
The Sin follows 16 year-old, Frankie, who comes face to face with a past horror. A traumatic event in her life comes back to haunt her, leaving her to question her faith, morals, and guilty conscience.
THEMES:
This film explores themes of guilt, anxiety, and religion, and follows the process of accepting our past actions. We want to touch on the connection between dreams and spirituality, and how dreams can sometimes be a means of communicating with the dead.
WHY WE NEED YOU!
We all know making a film requires money. We're hoping to raise fifteen hundred dollars to fund this production. This money will go towards our:
- Set design
- Props: a bed, a door and frame, crucifixes, and art supplies
- Costumes
- Our amazing actors
- Spoiling our amazing crew with yummy treats and an alarming amount of coffee
If you're willing to hop on board and bring this one to life, it would mean a lot to us. Big or small, anything helps. We'd be delighted to have you on this journey.
