The Puppet Show

Overview
THE PROJECT
The Puppet Show is a dark comedy short film about coming to grips with the nature of existing. Barry, a primary school teacher, is putting on a puppet show for his school. This show is going to be his magnum opus. His masterpiece. All is going well until his star puppet, Larry, becomes self-aware and questions everything. From hilarity to insanity, the tension between man and puppet builds to a breaking point. This film grew from a desire to express the common internal struggle that everyone deals with at some point in their lives. Existence. Everlasting fears, anxieties and worries can haunt us, and this film faces those head-on, through the eyes of a puppet. Inspired by deathly black comedies such as The Lighthouse and Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared we aim to create something unique. Something unlike anything seen before.
