The Lonely Ones.

Hi, we’re looking for your support in the making of our short film, ‘The Lonely Ones.’ 

About the film:

‘The Lonely Ones’ is a short film directed by Jamie Keiller and produced by Matthew Cumming. The film follows Daniel, a priest who is mourning the loss of his wife and going through a crisis of faith. Whilst grieving, he is approached by a woman who claims to be God. This leads Daniel to question everything he believes and to try and figure out if this woman is telling the truth.  

The Team:

The team we are assembling for The Lonely Ones are all incredibly talented, hardworking people. Each person will bring their own flair to the project. Our executive producer Ross Brannigan has helped us connect with exciting acting talent and is using his experience to help us produce the best film we can. Jamie is well versed at directing and has a wealth of experience. Roland, our director of photography, has a very keen eye and has helped produce some beautiful films in his time at AUT. Our lighting technician Amy Morrin also has a very keen eye for the camera and will use this skill to provide tips on how to best light our sets. Aria Burke-Munns will use her keen ear to bring us some crisp and beautiful sound. 

Our assistant director Joseph Hisayasu will do a wonderful job at keeping our production on schedule, and our producer Matt Cumming will oversee everything and make sure everything runs smoothly.  

Why we need you!

We are third year Bachelor of Communication students who are majoring in Screen Production at AUT. Our final project requires us to produce and/or direct a short film in it’s entirety. 

Our biggest hurdle is the unfortunate reality that films costs money. While we are thankful that we can hire out equipment free of charge, there are still many things that require money.  

Where you guys come in:

Any and all donations would be so greatly appreciated, and will assist in covering essential costs including travel, catering, costume and venue hire. We’d also love to pay our lovely actors and provide Koha for our crew who have volunteered their time to help. Any left-over money will go into helping us submit to film festivals to spread our film to the world. 

As soon-to-be graduating third years, we’d really like this film to help us earn us a spot in a very competitive industry. We are confident that the things that we have learnt over the course of the past 2 years will help us create the best film we can. We promise that any money donated to this project will go straight into, and only into, our project.
