Overview
At The Creators Plug, our mission is to tautoko the arts in South Auckland, and to show the next generation of budding Pasifika artists multiple ways of turning their talents into pūtea.
We aim to start this mahi with a re-run of our event from 2020; the first Creators Plug - an event that took the form of a market-styled creative jam.
This event was originally created as a way to give back to our community of artistic entrepreneurs who were all greatly impacted by Covid-19. It consisted of multiple creative activations and was brought to life by many passionate artists.
Help us make it happen, again.
With your help, we can make this event free, creating space for artists of all economic backgrounds, and paying facilitators what they're worth. We believe this event will help provide the opportunity for all artists in South Auckland to be part of an amazing experience that can generate income, build professional portfolios, allow space and time for creating connections with other creatives, and uplift the overall wellbeing of everyone involved.
The event will be taking place in March 2022, at The Redhill Community Centre.
We have more than 50 creative entrepreneurs lined up to both facilitate activations and showcase work they've produced specifically for the event.
Some of these activations include:
Polynesian Flash Tats hosted by Tonez from The Native Studios
Live T-Shirt Printing hosted by Johnny Puleanga from Luv Rain Supreme
Street Dance Battles hosted, and judged by The Projekt Team
Fashion Runway judged by John-Paul Foliaki and Frankie Lolohea (Franc Marie)
Music Production hosted by Oliva Luki from Outsiders
Music Recording hosted by TJ aka Creation Kit from Y$O
Photography hosted by our in house photographers
Open Mic hosted by Mita Tupaea from 18 Groove Ville
Graffiti Art hosted by Jeremiah Talo from Bod!ed
....and 20+ creative entrepreneurs who will host their own stalls or installations.
Thank you for any time, energy and love poured into this project. We have worked really hard to make it a positive and unforgettable experience for our Pasifika community here in South Auckland.
Ngā manaakitanga,
South Siders Co.
