The Bond

Hi, my name is Korina Tuahine. I am the writer and director of The Bond, a one-act play that is part of the Studio Season 2016: Strange & Wonderful (5 strange and wonderful short plays in 2 alternating programmes). This collaborative theatre extravaganza is brought to you by writers from acclaimed playwright Gary Henderson's Graduate Studio, and is proud to be part of the Going West Books and Writers Festival.

About the play - The Bond
A fear of the outside has kept Jessica and her adult son, Gordon, housebound for years. Utterly dependent on each other, this mother-son bond has become trapped in a world of anxiety, good cooking, and model airplanes. That is until Sam lands on their doorstep. With his newfound friendship and growing desire to go outside, Gordon tries to sever the apron strings for good. But Jessica's desperation to keep her sole position in her son's life may end up pushing everyone over the edge.
