The Story

Tape V is about a journalist who uncovers a mysterious Super 8 tape, revealing the story of a vampire's quest to become human again. This isn't just another tale of blood and desire; it's a journey into the depths of identity, redemption, and the humanity vampires long to reclaim.

The Funding

Your support means the world to us. We're embarking on an ambitious journey with Tape V and trying a lot of new things in this project such as:

• We want to build a DIY rig to achieve unique shots that can't be captured with standard equipment.
• We're planning to incorporate VFX to bring the vampire's abilities to life in ways that feel authentic and mesmerizing.
• We aim to rent a photography studio to create a classic dark room for developing film stock scenes, adding a nostalgic touch to the visual storytelling.
• We're also shooting some scenes on a real Super 8 camera to capture a vintage aesthetic, but we need funding to develop the film stock as well.

Note From the Director

My name is Wei-Chi and I'm an aspiring filmmaker. Last year, my team and I made a short film called "Act Blind 101," which was nominated at numerous New Zealand film festivals like NZYFF and the Third Culture Film Festival. It also received awards globally and was screened before live audiences in New Zealand, Asia, and Europe. More importantly, we accomplished all this with no funding.

Our passion for filmmaking drives us to push boundaries and create compelling stories. This year, I'm back with a new project and the same crew, eager to see how we can elevate our craft. We've come this far without financial support, and if you're curious to see what we can achieve with funding, please support us.
