Survival River Series
Brydee Rood | Visual Art
Overview
My interdisciplinary project Survival River Series 2016 Whanganui, NZ / 2015 Morni Hills, India has been selected for exhibition with the 6th edition of the Balance_Unbalance conference this August 2017 in Plymouth, UK.
Produced by i-DAT in collaboration with the Sustainable Earth Institute and Art and Sound at Plymouth University. My work at BunB17 is to be exhibited at The Eden Project.
B_unB presents me with an inaugural opportunity as an independent artist to travel and exhibit my art in the UK whilst engaging in a high level of critical research. I am thrilled by the prospect of participating in the full BunB2017 conference and exhibition program, which aligns conceptually to the core of my creative practice. Through Boosted I aim to raise funds to support my New Zealand travel expenses - ready to depart on August 17 2017.
Following the conference I have been invited to take up a 1 month residency scholarship with the Foundation Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen in Germany this September to produce a light performance for their Light Art Festival.
Getting to the UK for B_UnB2017 means I will also be in the perfect position to head directly to Germany and undertake the residency project at Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen.
