Strange Resting Places
Cuba Creative | Theatre
The Project
Our iconic Kiwi production written by Paolo Rotondo and Rob Mokaraka, has been selected to be part of the official NZ at Edinburgh 2014 season, supported by Creative New Zealand.
After winning the Outstanding New Playwright and nominated as Best Production in the 2007 Chapman Tripp Theatre Awards, our show has successfully toured New Zealand, London, Australia, American Samoa and Singapore.
Now, our little "gem of a show" will be part of one of the largest cultural events in the world. Our cast being resident in Edinburgh for 4 weeks, presenting the show from July 31 - August 25 at the Assembly George Square Studios.
This offers us a golden opportunity to tell our unique story as part of the centenary commemorations of the First World War in Europe. It gives European and United Kingdom presenters and producers the opportunity to see our work, allowing us to develop new audiences and potential buyers.
Our production has already secured $22,000 from Creative New Zealand, which will assist with flights, freight and landed costs. Now we need to raise $20,000 to cover our other production costs - such as marketing, publicity costs, meals, accommodation, venue hire, festival and artists fees.
We have an amazing team of people working behind the scenes at Cuba Creative getting the show ready for this tour. Your support - no matter how small or large - will assist us to reach our target goal and to bring Strange Resting Places to a potential audience of 4 million people.
Please donate if you can.
