State of Princes Gallery - Auckland

Originating on Princes Street in Dunedin and recently relocated to Auckland, State of Princes is a new artist-run gallery space that provides a platform for emerging artists. Our goal is to help artists gain exposure in a thriving art market, and tap into Auckland's creative community.

SoP had a very enthusiastic and loyal response from its community in Dunedin and we are excited to engage with the Auckland art scene. We seek to promote early career artists from across the country with a particular focus on cross-pollinating New Zealand's largest art centre with the South Island's most interesting practitioners. 

SoP will be a resource for recent art graduates looking to launch their careers and make some valuable connections, as well as a space to show mid-career and established artists that are making great work but lack an Auckland audience.

We need your help to transform our new space and get things up and running. This involves ripping up the carpet, sanding the floor, lighting, signage and other general maintenance. Your donations will help us create a professional and welcoming gallery to showcase artwork to its full potential. We hope to have our first exhibition opening in June.
