Spoiled Fruit — Printing

The Project
Spoiled Fruit is an anthology collection of LGBTQIA+ poetry from 20 poets across Aotearoa and edited by Damien Levi and Amber Esau. The anthology collection was born from the queer poetry being published on badappe.gay.
Damien applied for and received $7,500 from Copyright Licensing New Zealand to produce this collection and has been able to get the book to a complete state. This money, however, can only go so far and the increasing cost of paper and printing has made it incredibly difficult to see this project through and print the number of books we think necessary for our community.
The quoted print cost for 300 copies of Spoiled Fruit is approximately $1,800. We are asking for your support to fund 2/3 thirds of this cost so we can redirect some money to the launch, marketing and distribution of this important queer collection.
This collection includes a mix of voices from our queer community: Nicola Andrews kī anthony kate aschoff Jo Bragg Cadence Chung Rhys Feeney Ted Greensmith-West Haukupu Kyra Lawler Rex Letoa Paget Casey Lucas Ivy Lyden-Hancy Amy Marguerite Jackson McCarthy Hannah Patterson Ngaoi Simmons sylvan spring El Spurlock Laura Vincent
The New Zealand Poet Laureate, Chris Tse, had the following to say about the collection:
"The dazzling ensemble of emerging poets in this survey of queer Aotearoa writing peel back the thick, thorny skin of modern life to reveal a subversive flesh below the surface. From pop culture fantasies to the perpetual violence of colonisation, this poetic harvest will leave your fingers sticky and chins coated in sweet and sour juice. This isn’t your typical fruit basket."
Thank you for your support.
