About Smugglers Run:

Smugglers Run is a Sci-Fi Concept Pilot episode (20-25 minutes) that focuses on two inept smugglers, Geor and Chad, making their way through the seedy and gruesome intergalactic underworld. 

When the two fail to complete a simple job which results in their ship needing essential, expensive repairs that the two know they can not pay for, they accept the perfect job from the head of one of the most influential crime families to deliver a package. However, they quickly realise it is not that simple, as they become the most wanted men in the underworld. 

This script was written by Mark Ruffell, with rewrites from feedback and help of fellow filmmaking friends. Mark wrote the screenplay for Smugglers Run, being inspired by the childhood fantasy and ideas many children get from watching and wishing about what it would be like to be in the worlds of Star Wars and other science fiction films. However, it also deals with the dynamic of friendship and what friendship is when it is so slanted in one way with respect and camaraderie.  

Why your help is needed: 

Smugglers Run is a film made by a group of experienced filmmakers who have worked on previous short films. We have made plans to film this on a small budget. We are getting together locations and organising everything required with sets, props, costumes and locations. The original plan was to make this film for under $100. However, the lower the price, the lower the quality and since we want to create a quality sci-fi short film, we require more money. 

We are asking for $550 ($50 for Boosted fees). This money will go towards paying for quality Props, Costuming and Makeup and paying our actors for their talent and time to bring this Short film to life. There is also a Stretch Goal of $800.
