Selling Distance -- Encouraging Hope
Rumen Rachev | Theatre
Overview
What is the distance that one has to overcome to reach hope? This project is a dream and living reality all in the same time. How to sell our distance (as I am doing it now through Boosted) and encourage hope in the same time? Enjoyment is always enjoyment on someone's expense and I am offering here some enjoyment on my own expense. I will tell you jokes; I will introduce drama; I will perform the most performative event you have ever seen!
Is this worth your money? Is this project worth anything at all? Am I selling 'nothing' in the disguise of something; or vise versa? What do I have to promise you, dear reader of these lines, to convince you that willingly I am selling distance to encourage hope? Would you take the distance, fund this project, and encounter hope? I hopefully hope you do!
All the funding from this project will be used to finance further artistic practices. That includes: residencies; everyday needs to sustain oneself in the art world; buying myself time to create and to be productive outside the normal labour framework. All your contributions are highly appreciated and will be put towards the development of future-to-be performative projects and art research initiatives.
