Scholarship fund for Ethno NZ 2019
Ethno New Zealand | Music
The Project
We are building up a scholarship fund for young New Zealand based musicians to attend the second edition of Ethno NZ in January 2019 - and you can help us!
Ethno is a world wide movement for young musicians and singers. Founded in Sweden in 1990 Ethno is now present in around 20 different countries around the globe, run through Jeunesses Musicales New Zealand.
At the heart of each Ethno camp is the sharing and learning, where musicians from different cultural backgrounds are sharing their music to the others through workshops, leading up to a final performance.
The very first Ethno New Zealand took place in January 2018. With musicians from all over the world it was a huge success and pure magic. Planning for our next Ethno NZ in 2019 we just wish for more New Zealand based musicians to be able to experience the Ethno adventure together with our New Zealand participants!
We are convinced that Ethno is something unique that will bring a new flavour to the diverse music scene of Aotearoa as well as building bridges. Ethno is bringing New Zealand to the world and the world to New Zealand.
We want to create a scholarship fund for young kiwis and want to offer 3 musicians age 18-30 this opportunity to grow as musicians and to build a global network. And you can help us! All donations to this campaign will make a huge difference to not only the individual musician but also to growing the Ethno movement here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The dates for Ethno NZ 2019 are January 18-28 and the fee is $500. So we are aiming to raise $1500 in order to make this happen. If we are succesful in reaching our target then we will select the 3 musicians through an application process. We will take into account ethnic diversity, gender balance and musical experience.
Thank you so much!
