The Project
While going into overdraft is not so ideal, we have had to pull this show together from our own pockets - But we care about this cause.
The money raised from this Boosted campaign will go DIRECTLY towards all show costs, as well as paying our performers for their hard work. Join us in helping us start a conversation!
But here is the BEST PART:
Anything we get over $1,500, will be donated in a one-off donation to The KidsCan Charitable Trust. KidsCan have helped us write and devise this show and we are grateful for their generous work they do to keep kids out of poverty. See more about their work here: https://www.kidscan.org.nz/
SO WHAT IS THE SHOW???
Ruminations is a newly devised show in response to our current situation growing up in New Zealand.
Our main character, 'Boy', is a product of his environment. We follow him in his journey to try and make sense of the crazy whirlwind of life that surrounds him. From school, parents, siblings, clothes, food and his health - nothing seems to be going right. But it's hard to escape when there is nowhere else to go.
Simple Truth Theatre makes theatre about our Aotearoa. This is the New Zealand we live in. This is our culture. We see it as our job as theatre practitioners to live, reflect, and create. To shine a light on both the positive and negative parts of our community.
