RenewArt 2020 Creative Community Showcase
Three Lakes Cultural Trust | Visual Art
Overview
At the Three Lakes Cultural Trust, our purpose is to ensure Arts and Culture are at the heart of the community.
We are here to make arts and culture matter and we have been working really hard on achieving this goal since our launch in Feb 2020.
We hit the ground running and then level 4 lockdown happened.
Our arts and cultural community’s livelihood was literally turned off overnight, so we created the RenewArt project to provide some financial support for all of our fantastic artists by putting on a 4-day creative community showcase of their work.
What is RenewArt2020?
This project was created by the Trust to help regenerate our region's arts community in the wake of COVID-19.
Over 40 selected visual and performing artists from across the district were asked to create a piece exploring the theme of 'Renewal.' The resulting work will be on display at a four-day 'free' community event to showcase our region's incredible artistic talent.
The Event
The Three Lakes Cultural Trust was able to raise enough funding to support over 40 local visual and performing artists who will WOW the community with their extraordinary work over 4 nights at RenewArt to be held on October 9th and 10th in Queenstown, and October 16th and 17th in Wanaka, 2020.
RenewArt2020 is completely free for everyone to attend, and we’re also live-streaming the event so all of NZ can tune in.
So what do we need from you?
These types of events don't just happen. We need a team of enthusiastic volunteers to help this ground breaking showcase come together.
We have estimated that we will need up to 100 volunteers across the four days, and we'd like to raise additional funds to donate as Koha to say thank you for all of their hard work.
Stretch Goal Update
Thank you so much for your support!
We have estimated that we will need over 100 volunteers across the 4 shows and the reality is; there will be expenses (time, travel, accommodation, meals) for these volunteers and a small koha would be very well received exchange for their time and energy.
The more we raise, the more we can contribute to our arts community and for this reason we have created our stretch target of $5000 which may be in reach. We would love our generous donors to be part of this showcase helping our volunteers execute the delivery of this exciting community event and feel part of our vibrant and growing arts community.
Our initial goal has helped this happen, however the more we can raise the more Koha we can pass back to the art community.

Project Updates
A HUGE shout out to our amazing community!
17 donors and 94% of our first all or nothing target raised.
After 3 days we are nearing our initial target of raising $3000 of Koha for our RenewArt volunteers. The more we raise, the more we can contribute to our arts community. Our stretch target of $5000 may be in reach
