Funding for Rae de Lisle Piano Prize at the University of Auckland
Stephen De Pledge | Music
Overview
We are raising funds to establish an annual prize for a piano student studying at the University of Auckland. The prize will be named the Rae de Lisle Piano Prize; Rae taught for many decades at the University and throughout the country, and is an internationally renowned piano pedagogue.
This is an amazing opportunity to create a lasting tribute to Rae, at the same time as giving a helping hand to deserving and talented students. The initial Boosted fund-raising target will set the prize up for the first five years.

You've done it! A message from Rae.
Thank you so much for your support, the campaign has been successful, raising money for the Prize to be awarded for 8 years. Here is a message from Rae:
Heartfelt thanks to all you wonderful donors. I am overwhelmed by your amazing generosity and am thrilled that this prize is now secured for 8 years. So much more than we expected! Pursuing a career in music is a courageous pathway and those who undertake this journey experience many challenges. Those that succeed are remarkable young people, most of whom could have succeeded in any other profession. In choosing music, they show immense dedication and commitment to the art that they love. Any assistance that we can give to encourage and support them financially is so valuable, and in addition, the affirmation of receiving awards helps to keep their motivation strong. I am so honoured that this prizeshould bear my name, and hope that this will help to inspire young pianists at the University of Auckland in the years to come. I am excited to meet the first recipient and look forward to hearing them play.
