The Project

"In his struggle to balance a broken family and a conflict at work, a weary father tries to protect his kids from the harsh realities of a world that offers little forgiveness. As challenges mount, he makes a decision that will define his family’s future.”

Why us?

We're a dedicated group of young filmmakers at Massey University, eager to make our mark on the creative industry. On top of our fundraising events, we need an extra Boost! By donating to our campaign, you are directly supporting young creatives and local talent, helping the next generation of New Zealand filmmakers exercise their skills and develop their creative practices.

How Your Donation Helps:

Nourishing Creativity: Fueling our cast and crew with nutritious meals to keep spirits high and energy levels soaring on set.

Hitting the Road: Covering petrol and transport costs to ensure our team arrives safely and on time to filming locations.

Local Talent: Paying our wonderful cast for their time and effort. Their performances are at the heart of our film.

Location Hire: Covering the cost of renting a motel as one of our primary filming locations.

Audience Reach: Funding film festival submissions to reach audiences both in Aotearoa and abroad.

Soundtracking Our Film: Commissioning a local composer to create a score that elevates our film.

Prologue Class of 2024!

Our Core Team:

Ollie Skilton (He/Him) - Writer and Director

Hi all! ‘prologue’ is a film that has lived inside my head for a long time, so I feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to share this story with the world. 'prologue' follows a man as he navigates the challenges of raising children out of a motel in Wellington, New Zealand. 'prologue' is an incredibly important film for our times, as so often those in the most vulnerable positions are forgotten, left behind or used as political currency. It is a story that is very close to my heart and one that I cannot wait to share with local and global audiences.

Bella Thomsson (She/Her) - Producer and 1st AD

Kia ora! I'm thrilled to be part of this project and collaborate with such a talented team of creatives. My studies at Massey University have ignited a strong interest in producing and audience engagement. I'm currently honing my scheduling, budgeting and fundraising skills to become a well-rounded producer. My passion lies in creating space for meaningful stories to be told and helping rangatahi bring their ideas to life!

Elijah Adams (He/Him) - Director of Photography

Sup team! I’m super excited to bring ‘prologue’ to life with this awesome crew. I have had the honour of working on this project from the start and it's a film I can't wait to bring to life visually. I want to tell this important story through beautiful visuals and camera work in a fresh and interesting way. As I am a visual thinker I hope to burn powerful image after powerful image into the audience's brains.
