Pacifikus Festival - My Journey to Amsterdam
Pacifikus | Multi Discipline
Overview
I am Maori
I am from South Auckland
I am an Artist
Art is my voice, my strength.
I am Jacquelyn Ritete
As a community based artist, in using my strengths to step out of my comfort zone, I am not afraid to put myself out there.
I have join forces with Pacifikus to represent Maori. To be able to build rapport and open doors overseas for other New Zealand artists. Pacifikus aims to show a Pacific perspective of creativity to the world. Pacifikus, based in Amsterdam, was created as a festival to take artists from New Zealand and around the world to a European audience. Our core purpose is to share our unique style and culture.
Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to travel there on my own and I invite you to join me taking Pacificu style to the world.
I am working hard, seeking funding, donations and sponsors to help me get there. Now I need you to join me by donating here today.
Other recent projects I inlcude The Manukau Police Cell painting murals based in the holding cells, choosen out of hundreds, a collaboration project called Making Your Mark alongside Mansell Senior School. I also have completed painting a chorus box in Takanini and volunteer at Papakura Art Gallery
Currently i am studying at Manukau Institute of Technology, in Diploma in Visual Arts. As a 26year old Maori who grew up in Papakura, South Auckland I have always been inspired by my two sister's art making.
My Art is about personal experiences. Art is important to me because it keeps me sane and it's the way I communicate to the world.
If my Target amount is reached. Every person, company, organisation etc. that has put in funds towards my goal, you will receive a custom A3 paper size art piece as a thank you for helping me achieve my goal.
Thank you and I am hoping to be making many A3 paper size art pieces!
