Pacific Sisters | Inter Arts
Overview
We are the Pacific Sisters! Just Remember - Don’t Forget! We are a multidimensional art and fashion activist collective, based in Aotearoa and the Pacific, rocking this world since 1992.
Manu has got a 60 second pitch she wanted you to listen to … check out her video!
We want to hold a wānanga workshop, FEBRUARY 18-21 2021, to develop new online content which will support the storytelling and sharing of our pūrākau/fāgogo that surrounds Pacific Sisters' three new Avatar/Aitu works:
'Mururoa', 'Tohu Te Tupuna' and 'Supa Suga'
These three Aitu are newly manifested for the world to see, and are now housed in Tāmaki Paenga Hira / Auckland War Memorial Museum - Tāmaki Herenga Waka - Stories of Auckland Galleries.
Your contribution will help us to bring consciousness to our three Aitu and continue the legacy of these works. Your support will help us maintain our tino rangatiratanga/self-determination inside the Museum, through the sharing of Pacific Sisters' kaupapa that we feel the world needs to hear now more than ever:
- Protecting the environment
- Uplifting our indigenous cultures
- Freedom of self-expression
- Being a champion of the best of humanity
We need to hit our target of $3,500 by 9:00PM on Friday, February 19th!
Get ready to see this fresh work unfold in real life and online from March 11, 2021 at Auckland Museum: Tāmaki Paenga Hira – Stories of Auckland Galleries.

NEWSFLASH
WĀNANGA WORKSHOP POSTPONED
Unfortunately due to all the uncertainty created this week by shifting COVID-19 Alert levels around the country and community cases in Auckland, we've had no choice but to postpone our wānanga (originally being held this week), to allow our team to work safely, and to the best of our abilities.
E LEAI SE FEFE! Have no fear! We have already set ourselves new dates of 29 April - 2 May 2021. We can't wait until then to continue with our wānanga workshop plan!
In the meantime you will still be able to experience our actual NEW WORK at Auckland Museum inside the 'Tāmaki Herenga Waka - Stories of Auckland' new galleries and exhibition that are due to open to the public on 11 March 2021.
THANKS TO YOU ALL!!! We truly appreciate all your support.
