Over the Top

Overview
H@BYT, Hawkes Bay youth Theatre, will be taking the play Over the Top by Amanda Jackson to Christchurch and Brisbane in July 2017.
The play is about the lives of eight young people who enlisted in WWI and the impact on their families left behind. Written from research based on the people of Hawkes Bay, Over the Top is a theatrical insight about the real men and women of that time.
The H@BYT actors are 12 of Hawkes Bays best young actors ranging in age from 15-19yrs, and directed by the talented Peter Cottrell. This same group was also responsible for putting on the play Tahi Ao in 2016 by Daniel Betty, which received outstanding reviews both locally and on their tour on Brisbane in 2016.
The play will be performed in Hawkes Bay before heading to Christchurch: Isaac Theatre Royal July 7 at 11am. After these shows the group fly to Brisbane where they will perform to a number of schools and community groups.
To help fundraise for this trip the H@BYT team are holding an auction at the Taradale RSA on the 25th of March. We understand a number of our friends and family and those who wish to support young actors do not live in Hawkes Bay and will not be able to attend the event. This Boost page is a simple way that you can add your support for these teen actors.
All funds raised will go towards accommodation, food and transport cost for the tour.
