Out of Nowhere

Overview
Story:
“Out of Nowhere” is a short film centered around the character of seventeen-year-old Kaia, whose father is in a coma due to an accident. It’s been a year and she hasn’t been to visit him once. The story takes place in the week leading up to when he will be taken off life support, as Kaia struggles to find a way to say goodbye to him, and finally forgive herself.
The film deals with grief, loss, and the struggle of growing up. It explores the complicated relationship between Kaia and her mother, Allison after these events and strives to tell an honest and compelling story about the pain found in both holding on and letting go.
Our Ask:
This film is being made as our final project at South Seas Film School, with the hope to enter our story into Film Festivals next year. Any donations would contribute to us hiring gear, art department, locations, and feeding our cast/crew. As we are students, the funding is coming out of our own pockets, so any help you would be able to give would be incredibly appreciated! However, we are aware that not everyone is able to donate, so if you’d still like to help us please spread the word!
Our Team:
Our Crew consists of up-and-coming young filmmakers, about to graduate from South Seas Film School. Our Heads of Department are all young women passionate about telling a compelling and authentic story.
