About On The Edge of Hope

Story of Mother's Love, Determination and Sacrifice

This is the story of Helen McCrae who lost her husband in 1925, she is hoping for her son's return from WW2. It also shows the struggles of a mother to keep the farm and job going simultaneously.

This Project was partially funded by the Waimakariri council Creative Community Scheme for production. On the Edge of Hope was filmed around the parts of Waitaha /Canterbury for 11 days in early September.

Why On the Edge of Hope?

We have seen many movies about the war but not many about the people who stayed behind. It is an opportunity to shine a light on the struggle and hardships of men and women who didn't go to war but still fought to maintain a way of life.

"I wanted to show this era from a different perspective. We always saw WW movies in trenches, bloodshed, explosions etc. I want to show the other side of the coin in the sense of how families coped while their loved ones were fighting on another side of the world"

WE NEED YOUR HELP

We have completed the principal photography of this project and now we are in the post-production stage. Post Production is as important as pre-production and production, To achieve a solid finish to this movie it's going to require funds to be able to do it.

We are seeking generous sponsors to raise funds to complete the post-production stage of this movie and get this movie across the finish line.
