Not Psycho
Fractious Tash | Theatre
Overview
From the director behind the sell-out smash Earnest comes a far darker experience: hold on tight for a slasher-movie re-edit of real-life events too twisted to be true.
Boosted - Why we need your help
Over the last three years Fractious Tash have proved themselves to be the imaginative rebels on the Auckland theatre scene, but it's hard being the new kids on the block. If you're a theatre lover then, like us, you're into the vibrant, the adventurous and the daring - here's a chance to invest in a new completely original work from the team that brought you Titus and Earnest. For this production we're trying to build one kick-ass set that accentuates the story and brings you the best production values possible. Just think... for $10 (the price of happy-hour wine) we can get three bottles of red and green food colouring.... for $20 (the price of a BurgerFuel) we can get two metres of clear plastic... for $50 (like a third of a shoe from Area 51) we can get five kitchen knives and for $100 and above we can get our hands on some vintage TVs.... What does food colouring, clear plastic, five kitchen knives and vintage TVs make? One amazing experience you could be a part of by supporting us today.
The Project - Not Psycho
It's slippery, isn't it, the truth?
But nevertheless, it must be told.
He's awoken in limbo, trapped in a world built through an obsession with film.
A knife. A blond. A vicious scream.
It's all sounding so familiar, yet not at all.
In constant danger, in persistent confusion, in desperate pursuit of trust in a realm without rules - how can escape be found if you're the guiltiest of all?
From the company that brought you the dark in Titus, and the light in Earnest, comes an altogether different experience: a devised re-edit and mash up of the slasher film trope with a real-life story too twisted to be true.
Reality blurs - film is truth - truth is fiction - at stake are the lives of two young women.
Hold on tight for an hypnotic kaleidoscope that will leave you reeling.
Compulsive but unnerving - Hitchcock but not - this is Fractious Tash's most ambitious experiment yet.
The Company - Fractious Tash
