My name is Kate Low, an 18-year-old from Timaru. I was recently accepted into the Summer Conservatory course at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City.

This incredible opportunity will allow me to train for ten weeks in an intensive course in one of the most cultural and art-filled capitals of the world. It will not only be a great experience for the training I will receive, but also the inspiration I will gain from being surrounded by Broadway.

Theatre has been a part of my life since a young age, whether I was putting on shows for my grandparents or singing in the Craighead Chorale. If it had something to do with drama and performance I was there. To be accepted into this course was not only an honor but the next step to making a career in the acting industry.

Throughout my life I have been building a foundation of skills in this area from singing, to dance, to acting and industry skills. I am incredibly excited to train in New York however it does come at a large cost.  The course itself is $3800 USD and this does not include accommodation, living costs or flights.

So here I am one broke wannabe actor who loves theatre, asking other likeminded people to support in any way they can.
