New Album - Currently unnamed

The Project
My project is my first album. I have previously worked to raise funds for my debut EP, “Timeline”, however now as I am developing as an artist, I feel that I should work towards bigger projects, such as an album.
- I plan to have 10 - 15 tracks on the album, including some re-mixed tracks from my EP. An album would be a huge step in the right direction for my career as a young kiwi musician. It would allow me to break past the current limits I have as a less professional artist, and provide me with new opportunity to draw in new audience and play bigger shows.
- Creating an album is more than recording songs and releasing them for me. It is about putting all of my years of hard work into action and creating art I am very proud of.
Some of my musical achievements:
- Interviewed on RNZ by Jesse Mulligan. Link here
- Songwrote & was mentored by Bic Runga
- Wrote and recorded single with Jamie McDell
- Placed 1st in the Regional Smokefree Rockquest 2019
- Interviewed by Tearaway Magazine
- Interviewed by NZ Musician Magazine
- NZ Music Article about new single "Could've Been The One" link here
- Featured on the 2018 and 2019 Play It Strange's Songwriting competition albums
Having the funding to go into a professional studio and record my music to its full potential is an amazing gift, and I would love to have the chance to record and release my music properly.
ABOUT MARIANNE LEIGH
Marianne Leigh is a young creative from Auckland, New Zealand with a love for songwriting, developing her talents from the young age of 10. Her songs are an honest and personal echo of her own life, her writing capturing a moment or feeling.
The 17 year old has worked hard to hold high achievements to her name, such as being featured on the 2018 and 2019 Play It Strange competition albums, with her singles "You" and "Not Enough". Marianne brought her talent to TV, appearing on the What Now TV Show and Cath Vincent Talk Show. In 2019, she came home with 1st place in the nation wide Smokefree Rockquest songwriting competition with her single "Best of Me".
Since then, Marianne has been busy creating her debut EP "Timeline", out now.
“If anything, it’s very clear that Marianne has a very promising future ahead of her – one that will most certainly carry her music far beyond this most recent timeline. This girl is one to watch”
– Tearaway Magazine.
NZ Musician Magazine writes about “Timeline” in high regard, writing,
“Authenticity beams through Marianne Leigh’s connection, vast musical space and raw artistry. A significant debut accomplishment for this young song bird, who lays out a bold and honest timeline of events.”
Jesse Mulligan interviewed Marianne about her latest single ”Could’ve Been The One” on Radio New Zealand where she played it live. An acoustic track that sings about lost love, Marianne’s latest single gives you a taste of what's to come in future from this upcoming artist.
Thank you.
