The Project
WHO AM I?
My name is Raphaella Holder-Monk and this is my Boosted campaign for a short film called Mondae. It is a film I have written and I am so excited about getting it made. I would really appreciate any and all support in making this film happen.
My background is in the camera department 2ACing on dramas and I have also been shooting low-budget projects with friends on the weekends. I have been consistently & passionately writing short stories since I was a kid. And while I never went to film school, storytelling for me has always been cathartic, captivating and necessary. I’ve realised in recent years it’s time to pull these stories off of the pages & onto the screen.
WHAT IS IT?
So! I have written Mondae. The film will follow a young woman’s attempt to dive back into memories of someone once close to her through eating their favourite food. It’s about missing someone so much that it makes you sick, and then finally letting those feelings go.
Beautiful and painful memories are often delivered excruciatingly close to each other, so I wanted to make something where you can feel the sharpness missing someone alongside the elation of how they made you feel at one point in time.
WHERE WILL FUNDS GO?
The funding will primarily go to paying cast and crew during the two day shoot, as well as production design and of course some yummy catering. I will also be contributing funds to the project and am dedicated to getting the best results within our budget. This will be my first short film in the directing role and I feel extremely lucky to bring together many of my talented workmates and friends as our crew.
This will be my debut film as writer/director and I would really love your support.
