Overview

This project involves Perri Exeter and Joash Fahitua creating a variety of dance works for a showcase in April at Corbin Estate Arts Centre.

There will be 3 contemporary works from both Perri and Joash inspired from stories from our culture, experiences, communities and youth. The dancers are recent graduates from various tertiary Dance institutions from around Aotearoa. Each dancer brings their own diverse knowledge, skills and personalities to the work which will in turn create a multi-cultural and dynamic experience for the audience. This show will also serve as a platform for Perri and Joash to showcase their choreography in a professional setting and gain exposure in the industry.

This project will progress into further development of a Dance Collective which aims to provide opportunities for young dancers and artists to refine their craft and share their work.
Perri Exeter is a Unitec Dance Graduate who has created work for Tempo Dance Festival and was the Judges and Audience Choice winner for Short and Sweet 2015. She currently is the Teacher In Charge of Dance at Rutherford College. Joash Fahitua performed around the world as a dancer with Black Grace Dance Company for four years and has created work for Pacific Dance NZ and Tempo Dance Festival.
Money raised from Boosted would go towards the hiring of the venue as well as equipment and rehearsal space.
