Overview
Manny And Quinn is a short film from writer/director Siobhan Marshall about breaking out of your comfort zone, and taking a chance on something (or someone) you love.
By pushing that donate button, you’ll be supporting a group of Kiwi film and TV artists working together to tell the funny, uplifting love story we all need in 2021.
WHY THIS FILM?
A note from writer/director Siobhan: “Manny and Quinn was dreamt up in our rental apartment during six long months of lockdown in Los Angeles. Writing this story became a bit of an escape for me - a place I’d go to take a break from the sometimes torturous task of entertaining a two year old whilst spending months trapped inside the same four walls. Being stuck in isolation for so long, it’s no wonder I came up with a film that’s all about breaking out of your shell in order to connect to another person!”
After all the challenges and turmoil of the last year or so, we think there’s never been a better time to talk about the power and beauty of human connection. Our goal is to create a film that leaves people feeling happy and hopeful - and inspired to take a chance on reaching out to connect to whatever (or whoever) is in their heart.
THE STORY
Lorraine is a shy shopkeeper whose closest confidante is an outdated female mannequin named Quinn. When the men's clothing store across the arcade opens for business, Lorraine is intrigued by the handsome new shop owner, George - and his male mannequin, ‘Manny’. Lorraine and George embark on a competitive (but playful) game of dress-up with their mannequins and their interactions gently encourage Lorraine out of her shell. But when disaster strikes, leaving Lorraine a vulnerable mess, can she be brave and reach out to someone? A human being, that is?

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT
In the next 4 weeks (by March 24th) we need to meet our fundraising goal of $15,000 - or any money we raise is lost.
Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference. You can also support us by sharing our campaign on social media, and spreading the word to your friends and family.
We’re so grateful for the support we’ve already received - South Pacific Pictures and Barkers Men’s clothing - thank you!
THE FUNDS
Every dollar we raise in this Boosted campaign will be spent on making the best, most beautiful version of our story. Making movies is a pricey process, and your donations will help us pay for crew, location, camera and lighting equipment hire, props, costumes, makeup, finance and legal fees, insurance, and post production - audio and video.
We THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for donating to our little movie.
