M.I.A Short Film
Aelin Productions | Film
The Project
M.I.A shows the journey of Kara, the passenger of a self-driving car in future Wellington. The car ride takes an unexpected turn when Kara experiences a series of damaging events.
The Film
M.I.A is a 5-10 minute short film set in a not-so-distant future Wellington, New Zealand. This story takes place on the night that a self-driving car passenger, Kara, must survive a heart attack while battling an unexpected passenger. As we witness Kara struggle with these drastic situations, an unsuspected twist will change how we view these very events.
Through this narrative, we explore the worlds of artificial intelligence, security, crime, and the role of technology in society and people’s lives.
Our production will involve using a combination of virtual production methods that includes 3D models, 'volumetric film-making' and photo-scanning real-world miniatures. We will also be using traditional film-making production, working with actors and physical locations.
The use of the above film technology for a singular project is currently being integrated into large film productions; using different techniques to craft a cohesive, epic, final product.
How can you support us?
With the help of your kind donations to this ambitious project, we will be able to reach the end of Production to a successful standard. Production costs for M.I.A will range from props and set production, costume, hair and makeup, actor fees, travel, daily cast and crew needs such as food and drinks, health and safety requirements, and all the nitty-gritty bits that are required to allow a production to run.
We will also be putting funding towards our Post-Production stage, with fees for music composition, and marketing and distribution of M.I.A.
We’ve already had a lot of fun throughout Pre-Production of M.I.A and are all very excited to get stuck right into the unique production of this film.
