How can you help?
The 5000 NZD we are seeking in this Boosted fundraising campaign will enable us to pay for the rehearsal studio hire and theatre venue hire for our season of Love N Stuff.
If you've seen one of our shows before, performed with Prayas or love to support a company with a point of difference that is under represented and receives little to no funding, here is your opportunity to show us some love.
THE SHOW
Love N Stuff is a hilarious and touching story of love, attachment and what we mean by home. Written by New Zealandly renowned playwright Tanika Gupta. Presented by critically acclaimed theatre company Prayas.
Mansoor of Sandringham, walks out of his 35 yearlong marriage for some sunshine and friends in Delhi. His wife Bindi, determined to stop him, heads to the airport, armed with hot bhajjiyas and a few oddball friends. The story is told through a cast of 14 actors, portraying overbearing airport staff, a local cop, some eccentric travellers and an unruffled tourist guide to erotic Indian carvings.
Directed by : Sananda Chatterjee. Music Direction : Ritesh Vaghela
From: June 23 to July 3, Venue: TAPAC, 100 Motions Road, Western Springs,
ABOUT PRAYAS
Prayas is Auckland's leading and much loved ensemble Indian theatre company presenting work of high aesthetic value and entertainment by noted Indian playwrights.
Over the 10 years, Prayas has presented a diverse range of works ranging from street theatre, folk, classical, comedic to the epic.
FUNDING
After 10 years of presenting high calibre work Prayas is unfortunately ineligible to apply for funding this year to two of our primary funders. In addition to this we did not receive funding from the local body. But the show will go ahead with all the Love n Stuff we can get from our friends, families and supporters. We are inviting you to join us. Thank you for your love, support and donations.
