LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE on tour!

The Project
“Redman utterly abandons herself in hilarious, breathtaking fashion”
Leaving audiences with butterflies and stolen hearts LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE, is an original dance/theatre experience that fleshes out what it means to be helplessly in love. Brave, raw and unsettling, this work questions what we love, who we love and how we love. After a successful premiere season at the 2023 New Zealand Fringe Festival, where it earned the SYNZ Tour Ready Award as well as six additional nominations (including Best In Fringe), we are ready to embark on an exciting journey to Australia.
The show offers a captivating and heartfelt exploration of love's many facets, delving into the realms of eroticism, romance, jealousy, familiarity, pain, and more. Through a blend of dance, theatre, and clown, audiences are invited to question the unpredictability of love, unveiling its emotional depths beyond conventional notions. Described by Stuff NZ as a "high octane, purposeful performance" the show empowers audiences to embrace all their personal love stories.
Created and performed by Tessa Redman, LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE is a masterful collaboration with some of this country’s most exciting emerging artists. Elekis Poblete Teirey’s ingenius lighting and set design casts a reflective and elegant ambiance that you can’t help but be captivated by. Jackie Jenkins’ (Current Bias) sound design adds emotional depth and dynamism to the performance. Trantham Gordon’s expertise in photography, design, construction and storytelling plays an indispensable role in shaping the very essence of the show.
TOURING TO AUSTRALIA
LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE is set to grace the stages of two Australian festivals: Sydney Fringe (thanks to the SYNZ Tour Ready Award) and Melbourne Fringe. As an Australian-born artist, this tour marks a heartfeltnhomecoming for Tessa, and a defining moment in the team’s artistic journey. It represents our first professional tour, providing an invaluable opportunity to build essential networks and propel our careers to new heights. This tour is a defining chapter in our artistic journies, laying a foundation for our future success on the international stage.
WE NEED A BOOST
While we are fortunate to have Sydney Fringe cover our presentation costs, there remain numerous financial challenges associated with travelling to Australia. This is where Boosted comes in! We have been so grateful for the public’s support in our premiere season and we are now seeking support in making this adventurous tour a reality. Every contribution, no matter how small, will go a loooonnngg way in covering crucial expenses. Your donation will go towards:
- Flights to and from Aotearoa
- Rehearsal space
- Set construction costs
- Artist fees
Our journey with LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE/LOVE has been nothing short of magical, and we aim to continue this enchanting experience on the stages of Sydney and Melbourne. This tour is not just about showcasing this work, but also about forging meaningful bonds with diverse audiences and fellow artists. We cannot overstate how valuable this experience will be in our careers as successful international artists. Together, we can delve into the complexities of love, challenge perceptions, and embrace the beauty of human vulnerability.
With abundant love,
